To everyone that participated in the OLC Fights Hunger drive. Thank you all so much. We were able drop off 145 pounds of food to the Food Bank of South Jersey plus a generous check in our name from the Margate City Fire Department.

Great Success...

The OLC's 8th annual X-mas party went down the other night and lots of fun was had by all. Congrats to Scott "Meatstick" Platt for winning the Surfer of the Year trophy. Other notable wins were Harry Gale's 2nd "Wizard of Schnoz" award, Richard "don't call me Dick" Tator's Performance of the Year, and Shane Mathews'  Rookie of the Year win.

Congrats to everyone, and thanks for bringing your canned good donations. 

Super special thanks to Paul Aspenberg for working so hard on the new OLC movie. The first viewing was @ the X-mas party and it was awesome.

The OLC feeds the hungry

The Offshore Longboard Club will be running a canned food drive to feed the hungry this holiday season. Please drop off any canned goods into one of the designated bins @ your local surf shop. A few pics from the 56th St riders (AKA the Surf NINJAS!!!)

Kate McCarron Sent me a few pics of the Surf Ninjas/56th St Riders. These kids are great. They also won the youngest team (YOUT) award and a whole bunch of raffles. We hope to see you guys next year.

And the winner is.........

Thanks to everyone for showing up today and supporting the American Brain Tumor Assoc. The finals came down to 2 very good teams, The South Shall Rise Again vs The AC Surf Club. In the end it was super close but team Captain and Bing team rider Harry Gale edged out Tom Forkin's AC Surf Club for the win. Congrats to all the clubs and teams for their showings and thank all of you so much for making this such a great event, beach changes and all.

Contest Location Moved...

Because of "MEDICAL WASTE" washing up on Ocean City's South End beaches it looks like our contest permit has been moved to 7th St beach. They are telling me that the North End beaches will be the most likely to be open tomorrow. Please pass it on.

T-shirts will be available @ the beach for $20. There are a limited amount of extra shirts so get them early. If we run out of shirts we'll make a second batch.

The OLC perpetual trophy. The 1st place team will get to hold on to the trophy until next year.

Entry Update...

Looks like we have 15 teams signed up already. Just one more spot left. Who will get into the coveted last slot?!?!?! Email us quick for the final team spot surfforacure@gmail.com . I'll post a list of the teams later so stay tuned.

We do still have some spaces available for individuals. The Stragglers need 3 people and the Notso Specials have 2 open spaces.

The Trophy Case!!!

This year the trophies will be made by none other than Richard Tator aka jim hyde. They will be sick as usual. The top 2 teams get trophies for each rider and the top team gets the propetual "Team Champ" trophy made by Jamie "JK Surf Art" Kelly. A pic of the trophies will be up as soon as they are done.
There will be a few more trophies to give out during the day. One for the Youngest team, one for the Oldest team, and one for the best costume. This should turn out to be a great time.

Surf For A Cure Longboard Team Challenge info

The Team Challenge will be held @ 59th St Pier in Ocean City, NJ on Aug 30th. Please pre-register your 5 person teams @ surfforacure@gmail.com
Entry fee will be $150 per team (that's 30 clams per person)
Sign in will be @ 7am, the contest will start promptly @ 8am. Please be on time so the contest will run smoothly.

Anyone interested in helping setup/break down please be @ the beach @ 5:30-6am.
